Day 1: Orlando
Arrive in Orlando. One night is included in the tour
or add nights to enjoy Walt Disney World® with the
Magic Kingdom®, Epcot®, Disney-MGM Studios and
Animal Kingdom®, the several water parks as well as
nightlife and shopping at Downtown Disney® and
Disney's Boardwalk. Other attractions include
Universal Orlando Resort with Universal Studios
and Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld®,Wet 'n Wild
and so much more.
Day 2: Orlando - St. Augustine - Savannah
(280m/450km) Leave Central Florida and drive
north via St. Augustine, the oldest continuously
occupied European settlement in the continental
United States, before crossing the state line into
Georgia, also known as the ‘Peach State’. Arrival in
Savannah, a beautifully landscaped Southern city,
famous for its unique squares and parks.
Day 3: Savannah - Mocon - Atlanta
(248m/299km) Continue north past Macon, in the
heart of Georgia. Be sure to stop into the Georgia
Music Hall of Fame.Travel to the capital, Atlanta.A
cosmopolitan and traditional city at the same time,
Atlanta presents a fascinating blend of a rich past
and contemporary America. As a commercial hub in
the Southeast, Atlanta is home to many
corporations such as Coca-Cola and CNN.
Day 4: Atlanta - Nashville
(250m/402km) Leaving cosmopolitan Atlanta,
behind travel through the tiny towns that lace the
base of the Great Smokey Mountains. As you cross
the border into Tennessee, stop in Chattanooga, and
take the Lookout Mountain Incline that climbs
historic Lookout Mountain, Chattanooga's
surrounding mountains and valleys come alive as
the trolley-style railcars carry you cloud high. Later
enter Nashville, ‘Music City U.S.A.’, Birthplace of
Country & Western music.
Day 5: Nashville - Memphis
(205m/330km) Nashville's highlights include the
Country Music Hall of Fame, the Grand Ole Opry,
Opryland USA and famous Printer's Alley with
numerous bars and music clubs. From the
birthplace of country to the birthplace of the blues:
Memphis.This city combines old Southern charm
and cosmopolitan energy. Do not miss the chance
to visit Graceland, Elvis Presley's mansion and final
resting place. Downtown Beale Street is home to
numerous blues clubs and restaurants.
Day 6: Memphis - Natchez
(309m/497km) Travel south through the cotton
fields of the Mississippi Delta to reach Natchez, the
oldest settlement on the Mississippi River. Step back
into the antebellum era by taking a tour of one of
the magnificent homes. Natchez Under-the- Hill is a
great place to visit at night, with shops, quaint
restaurants and taverns.
Day 7: Natchez - New Orleans
(171m/275km) Visit a plantation home, then
continue your journey past historic cities such as St.
Francisville and BatonRouge to today's destination
New Orleans. In the ‘The Big Easy’, discover the
elegant mix of Creole; a city of contrasts, mystery,
excitement and history.
Day 8: New Orleans
The French Quarter is the heart and soul of the city
where wrought iron balconies and antique shops
appear next to all night jazz clubs, fantastic restaurants
and beautiful homes.Visit Royale Street, Bourbon
Street, Jackson Square and the many museums.Take a
boat cruise on the steamboat paddle wheeler, Natchez.Tonight sample Creole or Cajun cuisine, take
in some jazz, or relax along the river with a chicory
coffee and beignet, a specialty here.
Day 9: New Orleans - Mobile Bay - Pensacola
(200m/322km) Driving east along the gulf coast,
you will enjoy the vistas, and the gulf-life along the
water. Pass by Mobile Bay, in Alabama, a charming
Southern vacation port. Recognized for the
legendary Bellingrath Gardens and Home, a 65-acre
bed of flowers, you may also visit the USS
ALABAMA battleship, an active vessel during nine
World War II battles. Mobile Bay is also the
birthplace of Mardi Gras. Arrive to Pensacola,
Florida, a naval center that hugs the gulf Coast.
Day10: Pensacola - Orlando
(451m/725km) As you drive towards your final
destination, Orlando and all its attractions, pass
by Tallahassee, the capitol of Florida. Although the
seat of state government,Tallahassee has subtle,
old-fashioned charm.The Tallahassee area touts a
menagerie of sights including one of the world’s
deepest freshwater springs, a wildlife habitat, Capitol
buildings, fascinating museums of history, and
sprawling plantations.
Day 11: Orlando
Today is at leisure for more sightseeing and
departure at your convenience. |
